Our Founder
Taru Chaddha is the founder of RedMat Fitness. A pioneer in India in the field of Pilates as a fitness form, Taru started RedMat back in 2012 after a decade long corporate career in outsourcing and an unsuccessful venture in media & entertainment.
Taru’s Pilates journey started in 2010 when she chanced upon Pilates while searching for a workout to help her loose post-pregnancy weight post her 2nd child. She tried different fitness formats but was unhappy with the results and the lack of fitness trainers & workout spaces that catered specifically to a woman’s changing needs. Once she went deeper in the Pilates fitness routine, she realized what worked in Pilates’ favour was the scientific approach that ties individual’s health history, fitness level with specific fitness goals and the sheer level of focus to detail in the form. And it works across a woman’s life stages starting from teenage years to post sixty. This prompted her to learn more about Pilates and one step led to the other with she eventually starting her own venture!
As a Pilates coach, Taru brings a lifetime of learning to guide women towards a healthier, wholesome life. She aims to support women from different spheres of life and age groups to prioritize both their mental and physical health. At RedMat the focus is not just to support clients to be physically fit but also encourage them to shift their thinking from weight loss to being strong and fit, both physically and mentally.
Taru now envisions changing the paradigm on how Indian women work towards their fitness and is emboldened by RedMat’s Online offering Xpress Live to now
